Why We Breed
Here is a great place to discuss why you breed. Did you have a dog that you wanted to share with the world? Did you see a need and aim to fill it with your puppies? Are you in love with genetics and feel you can help create dogs with better genetics or consistency? Did you start breeding for a special purpose?
Don’t feel bad if you’re breeding companion dogs, they are the majority of the market, but here you need to separate yourself from your fellow breeders within the breed. Usually this is done through the lifestyle. You need to pitch the lifestyle that your buyers will have with their dog. So discuss how they are the best replacement for children if you’re focusing on people who want a dog instead of kids. You could also say they are the perfect companion for singles with a busy schedule. Or they might be the best dog to take to the lake or camping with the kids in the summer. A trusty companion for living at home. A great dog to protect the chickens while you sleep. Better than a Ring doorbell.
A Different Version
Here you can explain why your dogs aren’t standard for the breed and why. For example, I brought the hunting drive down a little so the dogs would be more interested in working with people than just hunting on their own … ironically making them better bird dogs.
Bred with You In Mind
Here you can explain how you take feedback from trainers, buyers/owners, and veterinarians and use that information to improve your breeding program. You’re always listening and working to get better.
Matchmaking is the key

Your Success is Our Success
It’s important that you are successful with your puppy beyond just having a healthy dog, we want the dog to be a net-positive in your life. It has to fit in with your lifestyle, this is why we are always there for you, to run ideas by or to discuss a situation, whether its a dog food question, enrichment question, or training question. If we don’t know, we’ll help you find a solution.
Strong European Influence
We have the beautiful big heads, larger bone structure, but we’ve added a pinch of American blood. What does this give us? It gives us the best of both worlds, a dog that’s got the big and bold, heavy look, with the taller, leaner build of the American lines. An exciting benefit of the American lines is that their skin is tighter. While this is something we don’t always think about, it’s very beneficial. It means the eyes are less droopy, as the eyelids are much closer to the eyeball, which is better for keeping the eye clean and debris free.
Larger Structure, blockier head, bigger features and joints, a big dog shouldn’t be dainty and the European style does that, you don’t want a giant greyhound.
Experience
If you have a lot of dog breeding experience, discuss that here. Talk about a time when you thought you were failing or something didn’t work out right and so you changed it and made it better.
If you don’t have experience in dog breeding, then pull from your experience in other things that help you understand breeding, maybe you loved biology in high school, maybe you are a nurse, maybe you are a teacher and love to share your knowledge and support your buyers.
If nothing else, you can also discuss your experience with the breed and the lifestyle you have with your dogs, similar to the lifestyle that your buyers will relate to you about, building rapport with them.
“Superb breeder! We got Mikey when he was 11 weeks old, he’s now 7 months old and just a big lovable goofball, he will be a big guy just like his daddy! Working will Bill was great, he communicated well and was very professional. All pups were really well cared for and we loved getting to meet Mikey’s parents and siblings. Would 100% recommend Dubdub Danes to anyone looking for a solid Dane puppy!”

“We had the absolute best experience with this breeder! From the very first inquiry to bringing our puppy home, everything was professional, transparent, and filled with genuine care for the dogs. The puppies were raised in a clean, loving environment and it was clear they were well-socialized and healthy. We received regular updates, pictures, and helpful information throughout the process. Our new pup is not only beautiful, but has the sweetest temperament—truly a reflection of the love and dedication this breeder puts into their dogs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a responsible, ethical breeder who truly loves their animals!”
